Hmmm, it worked for me just to run the Elecraft Utility and tell it to check for new firmware. The link I posted is to the K3 software news page which has all the changes, instructions, etc. It's not a link to a zip file directly.
Usually Elecraft sends out a mail message about the production and beta releases, but for some reason that mail message is not showing up for me, so I posted this note.
