Elliot, It sounds like you are attempting to use the procedure for downloading beta releases. The .zip file was most likely removed when it was no longer considered a beta version. The release versions have always been downloaded by K3 Utility into the folder (you can choose that folder - make a new one and point K3 Utility to it). The prior release version if present in that target folder will be discarded.
I just tried it - Make a new folder for the MCU3r79 firmware somewhere on your computer, then open K3 Utility and click the Browse button and navigate to your new folder - then click OK. Back on the K3 Utility window, check the "Copy New Firmware from Elecraft into Local Folder" and then click the "Check New Versions Now" - the firmware will be downloaded. If you want to archive each release, you will have to create a different folder for that release - K3 Utility does not archive releases. The beta versions are released as a .zip file that you must download, unzip into a folder and then point K3 Utility to that folder. 73, Don W3FPR Elliott Lawrence wrote: > The firmware is NOT show as a 3r79.zip file and a brower refresh doesn't > change the situation.
