I was one of the early complainers about all kind of artifacts in the audio. I'm "blessed" with a high Fc in my ears. This revealed that strong signals and especially AM (which I never do, but when tapping through the modes it was easy to notice) were "awfull" to listen to (for me).
I used the Heil Proset (1 year old) headphone which gave a too low level of audio on quiet bands. I was kind of spoiled by the Drake TR7 audio. I'm very happy with the BIG improvement after the DSP upgrade! No hiss and no artifacts which bothers me anymore and plenty of audio power now!
