International standard is to put country designator before callsign, forexample W7/SM2EKM. It used to be the other way around, SM2EKM/W7, but it did change years ago. Seems to me the USA has a problem following international standards. Pritty much like how the old USSR used to be, they signed all the treaties and agreements but in the end they did things "their own way".
