Kevin, It does that because there is no output - try tapping the WPM+ button to see if the output comes up at all. If not --- There may be only a problem with the alignment - I assume a 4 band filter board since that is the most common - Do the receive alignment again. Make certain you align 30 meters before aligning 40, and 15/17 meters before 20. Be certain you are hearing a signal on the correct band. If you do not have access to a signal generator, then use another transmitter working into a dummy load. If you attempt to align the bandpass filters in receive using just band noise, you are quite likely to tune to the wrong frequency (that is most important for the 15/17 meter band).
Give that a try first, and if still not successful, see the Transmit Signal Tracing procedures in the back of the manual - it is the only sensible way to isolate a transmit problem to the failing stage. 73, Don W3FPR [email protected] wrote: > Hello > just joined the list. > Have a k1 almost finished but cant do > any output tests.
