I just noticed some behavior on my K3 that I never noticed before since I have
not used AM mode until now. In AM mode, I noticed several things about the
filter adjustment. By the way, I do have the 6 KHz filter installed (FL2).

First observation: the maximum filter width that I can adjust for an AM signal
with the 6 KHz filter switched in is 5 KHz. Is this normal? So, is this value
in my filter adjustment the whole signal width (both sidebands) or just half
the signal width? Note: I do not have a wider filter.

Second observation: with other modes, CW, SSB, as I narrow down the filter
width I can see each filter being switched in on the xfil display. But, in AM
mode, this does not happen. The only filter in use is the 6 MHz filter no
matter how far I narrow down the filter width (well, down to about 1.35 KHz or
so which is the smallest achievable). I assume this is normal behavior and I
assume it has something to do with AM TX requiring the 6 KHz filter.

Also, if this stuff is explained in the manual can someone point it out. I
have read, what I think are the relevant parts of the documentation but I do
not see this behavior explained.

P.S. Actually, did not TX on AM, just listening to an AM station -- had to go
to dinner before I could get a turn.
