Congratulations! I hope it works well for you now. In some ways I'm similar, but after looking up your history, I would rather NOT be in your shoes. My K2 (#2030) just became a K2/100.
First contact with K2#2030 - 24 May 2001 KPA100 shipped to me - 24 June 2002 Started build - Fall 2002 Put asside because I don't have the soldering equipment for the big stuff, followed by various life issues and a few moves. FD 2010 - My K2 was used for for alternative power bonus, but the club wanted a 100 watt radio to claim a frequencey to call CQ. I joked to a fellow K2 owner that one of us will have to build the 100 watt version. Monday - dug out the kit to see where I was... First 100 W contact - 1 July 2010 I can get about 100W on all the bands. Fan goes on High when it gets hot. Rig control works. After all these years, it feels really wierd to look at the back of my K2 and not see any empty holes. It will be interesting to see which lid I use more now that I have the option. I already miss the automatic antenna tuner. As a side issue, are there any logging programs that can use the Elecraft way of sending text via serial port to the radio and have the radio send the CW like K2Remote does?
