K6XX and I did not experience much intentional interference at all, although I must admit that our percentage of SSB QSOs was the lowest in the field (by misguided preference it seems). I recall one time when a carrier seemed to follow me around the band, disrupting my run, but that was on CW. After the contest, we spent many hours comparing notes with other competitors. I don't recall any complaints about intentional interference. There may have been some - there always is in a contest - but it was not a significant factor.
By the way, the only allowed language for WRTC 2010 competitors was English. Referees in each tent would have noted and put a stop to the use of Russian or any other local language by competitors. Yes, one Russian Internet cheerleader urged his countrymen to listen out for Russian accents but many teams representing other countries had those accents as well. The Russians, both at-home and emigres, are darn good contesters. /Rick N6XI On 7/19/10, Jim Brown <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > I'm told that non-Russian speakers were severely QRMed when they > tried to operate SSB.
