Aha!  Another fellow who experiences the same thing i do:

I quote:
"Unfortunately, when I have to adjust audio level with the
radio's volume pot(s), all the other levels downstream also
change (line out is controlled by the volume pot)

It certainly would be nice to have a FIXED level out of that
line out jack and be able to adjust levels on the headset
mixer to the individual outputs without having the rig
volume pot interfere.

Same problem i have with the main receiver audio.  It's does not react per the
setting of the Config: line out adjustment.  Only the Sub rx does.  Again, is
this the way it is supposed to work?  I'm the 3rd person with the same
observation.  I've seen no "yes that's right" or "No, it is not right" response
from anywhere.  Only things to try and nothing makes any difference.  This is
my 3rd or 4th posting concerning this.

Course in some ways that's ok because i can operate the rig using the A vfo and
leave the Sub set on a WSPR channel.  Only thing is that changes when i have to
operate a "split" to work DX who requests it.  Not a major event but if the
audio out of the main rx is supposed to be controlled by the Config: line out
control, then why does it not do so?  I do have stereo cords (TRS) that i use
and they do test correctly.  I use a REALTEK audio card and have tried both the
Line in and Mic jacks, again with no difference.  I have upgraded the software
in the radio several times from what it arrived here with and that does not
seem to have been an issue.

I use headphones most all the time that are plugged into the back of the
computer soundcard and i hear both the main and sub audio when the sub is
turned on.  Otherwise i hear strictly Main rx audio in both ears.

Am i not understanding something or do i have ghosts playing games with me?
