Let me introduce myself. I'm Charles Fiterman computer programmer specializing in language internals especially garbage collection (nothing to do with city services). I've also been an Election Judge for a few years which gives me a different perspective on things. I have a special interest in the actual mechanics of voting and vote counting not just the external rules. I also have an interest in what we call natural language programming which includes such things as getting a computer to understand "Time flies like an arrow but fruit flies like a banana."

Does the group have a FAQ so I don't start in the middle sounding like a fool.

As the complexity of a system increases our ability to make
precise and yet significant statements about its behavior
diminishes until a threshold is reached beyond which precision
and significance or relevance become almost mutually exclusive
characteristics. -- Lofti Zadeh
