Well, Warren covered voting and taxes, so I might as well put up a
petition regarding employment.

all of the minimum wage is covered by state and federal dollars.
Just think of it as a Pigovian subsidy on labor. Or at least a way of
making the federal government pay for a portion of their unfunded
mandate (the minimum wage). Either way, it would be interesting -- and
potentially very useful -- to fund research into seeing what effect it
had. They did that at least four times with the negative income tax in
the 60's and 70's, and that didn't explicitly encourage work, which a
subsidy would.
(I know, they pay for it out of our taxes, but still -- that $747
billion stimulus they passed a couple of years ago could have given
every American worker a $2.50/hr wage subsidy for a year.)
