I don't instantiate it directly under electric. However, I just have a
text file named ltspice with executable permission which contains the
following line:

wine "/Users/pgupta/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/LTC/LTspiceIV/
scad3.exe"

On a terminal, I just start LTSpice like "ltspice &". You can probably
point to this file in Electric to start LTSpice and see if it works.
