Hi, I am new to using Electric, and today is the first time I've looked at the Electric group topics to try to resolve this. I viewed the video Electric video 1 (17:42), and drew a nand2 and a nand3 schematic and extracted them. I viewed my extrcted .spi files and noticed several errors where the wires didn't pick up the names I had attached to them, and places where intersecting wires failed to connect where I had drawn them. I searched, but couldn't find answers in these group messages.
>From the appearance of the schematic they are perfectly connected. I had to delete and redraw the wires several times in multiple places before all the problems were corrected, and I don't know exactly what caused them to now be correct. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to pick up the Gnd and Vdd connection name you need to start the wire from the Gnd symbol or Vdd symbol, then to the other component. OK, I can do that if it is necessary. It seems to get a correct pin name you need to first place the pin, then wire from it to the other components. All other tools I've used don't seem to have these requirements, so I'm thinking I'm doing something systematically wrong, like maybe there is some parameter I can set to get the wires to connect and correctly assign net names. Some gravity setting that makes sure the connection is made. I can make a nand4 schematic and send it to show what I'm talking about if necessary.
