Perhaps I'm not using the term "stability" correctly but I've reverted back to v8.11 for now at least
Nothing I can pinpoint specifically - and perhaps it's on this end - but I'm finding v8.11 to be more "stable" than v9.01. I haven't compared to v9.00. I'm using the default "mocmos" technology in preparation for the actual ON C5 process and then a few other more exotic processes. The most obvious problem is layer visibility - particularly noticeable on the active regions - "active" and contacts just disappear in both the main window and in the Components menu until I shut down and re- start. Doesn't change the info, just the visibility. Refreshing the window doesn't help; neither does zooming or panning. It doesn't seem to be a consistent problem - I can't seem to correlate a cause I'm also having some trouble making schematic connections. Every once in a while, I have to route a different path to connect arcs. I haven't noticed this in layout mode. I do not seem to have these issues using 8.11. Sorry. I'm not a software expert so I can't properly evaluate the problem - I just see what I see as a user. I'm on a Dell T7500 E5630 processor w 12G RAM under Win7 Enterprise with an NVIDIA Quadro 5000 driver version 8.17.12.5993. Java version is 1.60_27-b07 By the way, my previous problem (a recent disappeared thread regarding 3D) was solved by setting up a wipe and reload of the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\com\sun\electric Dave -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Electric VLSI Editor" group.
