I didn't see particular this issue.

But we likely need to add button "break simulation" due to be able
stop hanged spice simulations from GUI without stopping process with
kill -9 or task manager in windows.

Looks like it's something similar

I hope I will have some time to look into this issue after Oct 12
(after tapeout of my asic project, hoping I';ll have time  to see the
code)
