Anal probe on a budget.
This will take only a little effort, 10 minutes, and a little arts and
crafts ability.
Parts needed: 1) wire and banana or other plugs to attach to your
signal generator 2) double stick (sided) tape 1/2" wide 3) aluminum
foil 4) electrical tape 5) a plain wooden drumstick, yes you heard
right, the largest diameter the music store has--about 3/4" diameter is
best, and they are sold in pairs and they are already laquered and
smooth, so there is no finishing required.
Here's how: take two strips of double stick tape about 15" and gently
stick it to a clean table top or piece of glass if available. Use a
scissors and cut a strip of aluminum foil off the roll. Smoothly apply
the foil to the tape which is stuck to the table. Then remove the tape
from the table and using a sharp scissors, neatly trim the foil along
the length of the tape, slightly cutting into the tape so the tape and
foil have perfectly smooth even edges. Make two of these. You now
have two self adhesive electrical contacts Carefully apply these
lengthwise onto the wide end of the drumstick so they are an even
distance apart along their entire lengths. Trim the foil on the end
you insert to about 3/4" from the end of the drumstick. Use the other
drumstick to apply pressure sealing the foil-coated tape to the
drumstick electrode. This smoothes the edges so you don't irritate
your butt. You have now made a bi-polar electrode which can be
inserted as shallow into your anus or as deeply into your sigmoid as
you like. You can literally insert it so far it will stimulate your
spinal cord and you'll feel it down to your toes. Now take the wire,
strip about 1/2"inch from each lead and using electrical tape, tape it
one lead to each aliminum foil strip. Wrap the tape tightly around the
drumstick where the wires are connected so they won't pull out and have
good contact with the aluminum foil contacts. That's it. You're ready
to plug in. No fancy tools and no soldering is required. If your
first one doesn't turn out well, just take the tape and foil off and do
it again. Its pretty easy.
