It needs to be synced with upstream changes that happened since Maverick, the detailed changelog can be found at https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/precise/plymouth/precise
The code could also use some refactoring and I'd prefer to to change some animations and add the initial fade-in. I'll handle that eventually.
