Workaround:
When double-clicking a subdirectory in the column-view, this makes that
subdirectory the leftmost column ("opens it in the marlin window").
After that the files directly in this column can be interacted with by
using the rightclick menu.
Reproduce:
open terminal
touch test_806377.txt
open marlin
use the device "filesystem" -> home -> 'yourusername' -> try to rightclick the
file (you will have nothing at all happen)
now leftclick ONCE on the directory 'yourusername' to un-select the file, thus
closing the preview pane
now doubleclick the directory 'yourusername' to make this the start column
reightclick the file and you get the menu and can select the open with or any
other option.

Title:
Miller-Column-View lacking rightclick menu on files and empty spaces.
Status in Marlin:
New
Bug description:
When using the Miller Column View in marlin, there is no way to create
a new file or perform the expected right-click funktionality on a file
because no rightclick-menu is provided on files and empty spaces on
the view.
Oops - forgot to mention that this is on oneiric + elementary-dev ppa and in
a pantheon session.
