Not to mention, this is the most common place that occurs to the common user to configure File Sharing; sharing plug or no sharing plug. Of course this is my opinion, You, Xapantu or Daniel Fore may disagree and provide more sound logic.

While this is a more advanced task, so is dealing directly with files in the first place. Take a look at this screenshot: http://cassidyjam.es/xvClMk.png As you can see, Nautilus (on the left) has a pretty big and confusing properties dialog with six tabs, emblems, notes, and deatailed metadata. That's the wrong way to go about it. PCManFM (on the right), on the other hand, has a much simpler interface. The Permissions tab (http://cassidyjam.es/NlAHxO.png) has the advanced permissions options, but nothing more. As of right now, I have to revert to the command line (or, *gasp* Nautilus) to tweak permissions, something the default file manager should be able to handle.
