Blog is too wide; a sidebar is needed

Bug description:
The text in the blog is too wide for comfortable reading (plus it just
looks weird). A solution that would solve this and help with
navigation would be to provide a sidebar on the left or right that has
lings to popular articles or whatever, reducing the blog content
area's width to fit it.
