Public bug reported:
Currently, there's no feedback after submitting the form to create a new
account. Instead, the user is thrown back to the homepage which makes it
feel like they must start over. Then when they try to register again,
the textbox text turns red with no message telling them what's wrong.
This should be fixed by:
1. Letting the user know they've successfully completed the first step and must
now click on the link in the email sent to them to finish signing up, and
2. Let the user know what the error is when the signup is unsuccessful.
