Some thoughts on how to deliver extensions:

Create a ZIP archive, ".mxt" extension, containing a key file "manifest"
like so:

[extension]
Linux32=libzeitgeist32.so
Linux64=libzeitgeist64.so
Windows=zeitgeist.dll
desc=Zeitgeist history logging
desc[fr]Historique en Zeitgeist

And an optional file "config" to serve as default configuration.

The extension site should use file finger prints to include sha1
checksums with links.

Do we need further verification? Users might end up downloading
extension archives from random sites. We can show an infobar, we can
show the description, do we want a warning if it's not from a known
server?
