Significant or not (most likely not) I think it would be a great initiative and every dollar is just as welcome as the other, right? I mean, using Flattr doesn't cost anything.
Anyway, Flattr has a very comprehensive guide to integrating the service at http://flattr.com/support/integrate. My suggestion for any initial integration would be to change the content of the "donate box" in the lower right corner on the homepage to: "elementary is made by volunteers. Help support the cause via PayPayl or Flattr." "Flattr" would then either link to the elementary Flattr page or act as a "Flattr thing", styled with CSS to either a button-look or just a standard link- look. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Elementary Website Team, which is subscribed to elementaryweb. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/840896 Title: Integrate Flattr with the elementary website Status in Official elementary website development: New Bug description: I propose that the elementary project should offer up a Flattr "thing". For those of you who have missed out on what Flattr is -- it's this great service that allows you to specify a sum that you'd like to donate each month, and then every time you Flattr something, the amount is divided so that it's split equally by the end of the month. It's used by content creators to make a small extra profit. Check out http://flattr.com for more info. Integrating Flattr on a website is dead simple, and open source software is a typical service to use Flattr. This could basically be an extension of donations to the elementary project, giving people the option to simplify donations.
