[this message comes late because it bounced at the first time] Hinted at this a few days ago in an earlier message.
This patch is for the "unstable" version of Elephant
and fixes the on-off test errors.
All tests run cleanly now with BDB, even when run
multiple times starting with a fresh or existing db.
I'm not quite content that the border case is filtered
by subtypep of 'btree, but I don't see any other way
and it works fine as it is.
