Derived index slots have been around for quite some time (before 0.5 and 0.6 at least). I'm surprised coverage of them isn't in the manual. The interface changed a few years ago (they are now defined in the slot defs and not subject to dynamic addition/removal). However they were broken a few months ago; I think Leslie was looking at it but I can't recall.
Association slots were added recently and have not been fully tested. They should be considered in beta. If I send you a short description in the next few days will you volunteer to update the docs? :) Ian On Oct 18, 2009, at 9:33 PM, Alain Picard wrote: > > Dear Pachyderm lovers, > > I'm noticing that the manual describes "derived slot indices", > however I can find no tests or example usage of these. > > Conversely, I can find a test for what appears to be a very > cool feature: ":associate" type slots (in testassociations.lisp) > but can find no mention of them anywhere in the docs. > > Are either of these usages OK for prime time, or are they > considered experimental and subject to change/removal? > > > [Sorry to be pestering the group, but I imagine this is the sort > of puzzling out that has to occur when someone starts to use a > library "in anger".
