It's a bit of a kludge, sure, but not so extreme IMO. Even though it is Linux-specific, it will fail harmlessly on other systems and carry on as before. But I understand you're not thrilled with the status quo either. Mark mentioned that maybe we should revisit this, and push the alt file perparation out to libdwfl. He just didn't trick me into doing it yet. :) Josh
