In openSUSE we have the following RPM checker that uses
shopt -s nullglob:

The script loads all /etc/profile.d/*.sh files via source $FILE which
can end up by stuck cat (with no arguments):
shopt -s nullglob ; cat "/etc/debuginfod"/*.urls
(stuck)
