I'm using Orca and I just tries to use numbered links. But the problem are not to activate a link, but to clear the readding output.
Wen a page shows a line wich hiperlinks like that: News | Events | Magazine if I use the down arrow tree times, I like that the output will be something like: [down arrow] News [down arrow] Events [down arrow] Magazine and not: [down arrow] News Events Magazine [down arrow] News Events Magazine [down arrow] News Events Magazine It's clear to you? Other problem apears when I choice to enumerate links: What do you anderstand when you hear a link like that? 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 5 5 6 Its confused. you can look to the screen and read something like that: 1[1] 2 2[3] 3[4] 4[5] 5[6] Than you will anderstand that the 2 are not a link. But, If I'm navigatting between hiperlinks wich the down arrow? [down arrow] 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 5 5 6 [down arrow] 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 5 5 6 [down arrow] 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 5 5 6 [down arrow] 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 5 5 6 ... It's not useful I like to hear something lik that: [down arrow] 1 [down arrow] 3 [down arrow] 4 ... I understand if you never used an scren reader to navigate before. I coud see for many years than I know tat are more useful to look at the screen. Are more fast cause the eye can select the information imediately. But a text wich an screen reader are plain like a music. You can go back and forward, but it have just one dimension. Than, everyting that helps to jump to the information we like, are GOLD. If you are readding these lines: web [images] [groups] [news] web [images] [groups] [news] web [images] [groups] [news] Qwickly you percept that have tree identical lines. Than you never will read the tree lines cause the first are suficient. Your eye qeicly jumps to the next blok of text. But the synth will speak something like that: web images groups news web images groups news web images groups news The same problem ocurres when I use the up arrow to choose an old command. The eye aways jumps the block: [EMAIL PROTECTED] and reads the comands: cd .. dir and never root at angelo laptop cd dot dot root at angelo laptop dir I will try to learn something about squid. Thanks to all. If someone like to help-me, please, advise. I'm using the Orca and I've installed the yasr. The yasr works well, but I need a portuguese voice to work easely. I'm using the IBM portuguese via voice. It's not free software, but are a big help to jump in Linux. I know that the free tts suports portuguese. Tan, I'll try to use it wich yasr.
