Hey,

2007/5/9, Ryan Felder <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

X11

you mean X10
that's also part of the LinuxMCE things I'd like to see in Elisa,
though as one of my fellow UMC told "you're lost in all those
functionalities ( and the software becomes unusable )"
Integrating such a feature, without losing usability would be...
waow... so much than a MC.
an HDH (Home Digital Hub)

Another LinuxMCE feature I'd like to see in Elisa is the
"Follow Me" Media, each family member's media follows him/her through
the house • Automatically controls all existing av devices, like TV's,
Stereo's, etc.)

I control my lights using X11, it would be nice to configure elisa to be
aware of that and give me options to dim lights from a menu, or using
specific remote buttons, or automatically when I play a movie
this seems frivolous, but there are good reasons for it which i will go
into next

Alarm Clock
    remote control... err... controlled
    play a playlist, randomized
support for fading in the volume at alarm start
along with X11, this could allow my lights to dim on before the music

    options for sunrise/sunset
e.g. I have lights on my turtle tank, and I have written an UGLY
python script that begins to dim the lights on at dawn, and gradually dims
them up until full sunrise, at which time the lights on my turtle tank are
fully on... it does the reverse at sunset... this could even be nice for my
room lights when I feel particularly industrious and want to get up at dawn

the alarm clock and X11 I could do with ugly scripts, but it would be ideal
to control them through menus in elisa

uhuh, cool idea ;-)

Screen Saver
specifically a photo slideshow, but allowing the system default
screensaver to come on *only* when on the menus would be nice too

I'd better see an animated background (a la cthugha
http://www.afn.org/~cthugha/gallery.html), depending on the rhythm for
music playing.
