Hi all !

This mail is for UMC team and Elisa Team but I know that Lirc team is also
concerned

According to yesterday's meeting (
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MediaCenter/IRCMeeting20070725), I post some
information about the lirc applet and the work realised about an GUI for
Irrecord :

- Lirc applet, named glirc :

The first version, a beta (after the alpha 0.0.1) is out glirc 0.1. Many
thanks to you Denis Gautherot for his help, he has made very very good work
(particularly the integration with gconf to store preference's user). A .deb
will be available as soon as possible. You can test it at
http://d.gardon.free.fr/vase/umc/glirc-0.1.tar.gz . Be careful the archive
contains files, but they are not structured. So some functionality (like
preferences) won't work. But you can read the code, run it (python
glirc.pyrun-in-window) and send feedback.

Currently the applet allow you to run irexec, restart and stop it. An icon
shows if irexec is running or not. See it and send feedback ;)

- GUI for irrecord, girrecord :

A little tool to use irrecord with a GUI. Actually in alpha version, you can
dowload it (at your own risks ;)) here :
http://d.gardon.free.fr/vase/umc/girecord-0.0.1.tar.gz. for the moment I've
some problem with irrecord (don't work) and in the ml of Lirc no one respond
to my request. This to say that for the moment girrecord works with irw to
catch ir code. You have some buttons, for example KEY_PLAY, and after a
click on it, you press a button on your remote control. It assigne it. Just
this for the moment. But Christoph said me that use irw is not a good idea,
so...

But the same things can be applied to Elisa. It allow the user to configure
very easily his remote control. I read some documentation on the Track of
Elisa about plugins but are they very actual ? If some of you can help me, I
will develop a plugin for Elisa ;)

- END POINT :

Create another plugin (reference to the meeting last night) to select your
remote control from a list, and copy the right lircd.conf (with the new name
space applied). With the lirc.hdwb, it can be very easy. There is just the
problem that lircd.conf have the right place in /etc. So must some root
privileges. If you have any suggestions for this and to create plugin.
Wattazoum maybe you can help me for this point ?

Right, I hope you've understand everything with my perfect english :)
Be many to respond to my mail !
