remember that for the time being, elisa is still in universe, and not in main.
that's why I also stated that for gutsy, we'll have some packages
update available in the UMC repository. We will do our best to have
everything up to date in gutsy universe. but only best effort, since
there are still many things underway (for ex, lirc 0.8.3 won't be
there!)

The target for gutsy is to have a derivative level 2 available and testable.
and the infrastructure and team ready.
The real things will come for gutsy + 1, with elisa in main, and
everything in the official pool.
along with the UMC being an official derivative level 1, with its own artwork.
And by that time, elisa should be mature enough, and the same goes for
the other efforts (lirc, elisa config, ...)

as I use to say, I won't be more royalist than the king ;-)
so we will keep reachable targets.

to answer your question, the best would be to have this lirc config
plugin for elisa 0.3.x, so that it's packaged and sync'ed in gutsy.
but we still have the UMC repository door opened if we are not in
time...

yup, that will be very helpful. But I've not checked this in depth though...
That and possibly some autodetection of media on the disk (optional).
