Overall, I am amazed at the improvements made in the new release. It's extremely impressive. The UI is far better than in previous versions, I'm able to keep elisa running overnight or throughout long movies without any crashes, the YouTube plugin is really fun. Just awesome. The issues I've come across so far are all minor but I thought I'd point them out anyway in case you weren't aware of them.
* I have a lot of videos encoded in h264 from Handbrake and the h264 codec from the Fluendo code bundle recently released in your Web store. The thumbnails for the videos all show up oddly distorted, sometimes the whole thumbnail is a repeating pattern of seemingly random colored lines and sometimes only the bottom half of the thumbnail looks that way, with the top half looking correct. Other video formats (XVid, for instance) show up correctly. * There have been a few times that I load up the "my favorite videos" list in the YouTube plugin and it seems to randomly miss a few videos. My list has 12 clips on it, but if I go to the list in elisa, it will vary from 8-12 items, different clips missing each time I load it. * When browsing a list of items in elisa, there are items with two lines of text, like audio albums, and there are items with one line of text, like videos. Items with one line of text center the text in the middle of selection rectangle. However, when I list individual songs on an album, the song title is listed as if there is another line of text beneath it, so that the song title is against the top of selection rectangle instead of being centered properly. * The currently audio playlist implementation is pretty confusing. I will sometimes be listening to an album and decide that I'd like to switch to something different. If you just enqueue the new album, you can't start listening to it until the other songs finish because the only way to remove songs is to clear the whole playlist. So you have to remember to back out to the playlist, clear it, then browse back to what you want to listen to and select all the songs. * I can't figure out how to get flickr working. I installed the latest flickrpc from Ross Burton's bzr tree, but whenever I try adding a flickr:// address to the appropriate area of elisa.conf, I get an error about that not being a recognized URI scheme. Thanks again for the new release. This is really great and enjoyable to use software. Cheers, Brad Griffith
