Hello Eliseros,

The Elisa team is happy to announce a second alpha release of its
Windows flavour
thus taking another step towards its goal of being truly cross-platform.
Updated versions should from now on follow more frequently, with a
production
release in the next few weeks.

It can be downloaded as usual from the website's download page [1].

Fixed issues from the previous release:

 * A good amount of playback related crashes are fixed (bug #232002)
 * Missing codecs are now reported to the user (bug #232194)
 * Crashes at startup on specific versions of Windows XP are fixed (bug
#234827)
 * USB devices are now properly recognised and browsable (bug #231894)
 * UPnP shares are automatically discovered and playing back from them
now works (bug #231954)
 * Default media directories handling is fixed (bug #232195)
 * File and directories encoding issues are partly solved (bug #231891)
 * Elisa's process is now correctly exiting (bug #231895)
 * Incorrect DLLs were loaded (bug #233805)

Known issues of this release:

 * Codecs for DirectShow (ffdshow) have to be installed manually in
order to
   play all media files
 * Sometimes coloured lines appear in the user interface
 * Audio CDs are detected but playback doesn't work
 * Some folders' encoding might still prevent them from being browsed
 * YouTube plugin is deactivated due to user interface locks
 * Thumbnailing takes more memory and CPU than it should

Have a nice day,

Florian on behalf of the Elisa team
