Hey Zubair, If you think this is a really worthwhile feature, it probably makes more sense to suggest it be added to Erlang.
At least from the use cases you've described though, it's probably not necessary. When the value gets deserialized from whatever protocol to an elixir value, that should fit fine in a normal float. When it get's serialized, there may be some data loss as it get's converted to a lower precision value, but that's likely to be ok in this case.
