For the Desktop, there's Electron, which allows you to make Desktop JS
apps. There's an example at
https://github.com/mdgriffith/elm-electron-todomvc. There's also a tutorial

Compiling to a target other than JS is definitely in the long-term plans
for elm, but not the short term plans.
