I'd stress that that answer, while very clever and pretty useful, is far from ideal and requires events to be triggered. I wish Elm had a good story for getting back element props, since it's an issue I always run into. Right now, sending element selectors (eg "div.myclass") through a port to get lark in JS is the best I can think to do.
