Atom used to be *hugely* laggy when I last tried it.  But I spun it up 
again recently for this new work project a couple months ago and it is 
significantly better now, very responsive (not quite as responsive as, say, 
KDevelop, which blows even intellij away, but fantastic now nonetheless). 
 Only slow on initial load, but I always keep it loaded so that is not an 
issue for me.
