You could use
elm-decode-pipeline:
http://package.elm-lang.org/packages/NoRedInk/elm-decode-pipeline/latest
Just put all the field optional and give it a default value if you dont
want to use maybe.
Exampe, give title default value empty string "", and filter it out after
decode.
decode Beer
|> optional "title" string ""
