I've had my HVR 900 working previously under older versions of Ubuntu - see http://www.mythtv.co.nz/mythtv/2006/11/20/working-hvr-900-driver/ so I know the device is working correctly.
I recently upgraded on box to Hardy an decided to try the binary driver for Hardy - empia-2.6.24-16-generic-2_i386.deb. I already had the V3 firmware installed from by previously working Gutsy install. Analogue works, but dvb scanning fails. uname -a Linux feisty 2.6.24-16-generic #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux Now the box already has a PCI SkyStar2 card which is working correctly, so the HVR 900 shows up as DVB device 1. lsusb | grep Hauppauge Bus 002 Device 003: ID 2040:6500 Hauppauge I've tested the device under tvtime and I have no issues scanning for analogue channels. DVB scanning fails to return any results. I've also tried running mplayer with a channels.conf that works under a Gutsy kernel, and that also fails.
