Hi,
Thanks for the detailed reports..
Non-ASCII characters are displayed in bold.
What font do you have set when this happens? I think it is a problem
with the font itself, unless somehow the core renderer has suddenly
changed to use a different face for the accented characters. (Do you
see it in the precompiled binary?) I've never observed this.
Bold characters switch to normal when the cursor is on them, in any
case the colour is removed and they become black or grey, the same
happens with a colourful background, for example in *Calendar* with
holidays
This is a feature ;), ensuring easy viewing of the character under
the cursor. I tried retaining the face but it was less readable and
more unpleasant-looking than you might expect.
On a German keyboard the ` key (Shift-´, between ß? and Backspace)
cannot be accessed. It comes in as
<S-268632064>
Will look into. It sounds related to another problem someone
reported a while back. Is that key combination supposed to give you
tilde (~) or forward apostrophe (`)? If not tilde, how DO you get a
tilde on the German keyboard?
On a German keyboard Alt-s-´ or Alt-` produces the correct ˚
(although it fails with shift only).
OK, related to above.
On a German keyboard Alt-s-6 or Alt-& is not ^ but &.
Will look into.
On a German keyboard Alt-s-h or Alt-H does not produce Ó but (, but
there is an Ó shimmering through it.
OK, this appears to be a width-based rendering problem (not KB). For
some reason metrics are returning a narrow width for that character.
