A binary compatibility issue between different bugfix releases of
10.4.x on PPC was handled in last November. If OP means something
else by "break on every minor rev of OS X", please describe it
precisely. If we can't solve it by the next release, then at least we
should mention it in etc/PROBLEMS or mac/INSTALL.
