Hi All,

I can't change fonts using the emacs from Emacs_NS-9.0pre3i.dmg.
running on an intel mac (os 10.4.9). [I used that dmg per the
directions on the site.]

I understand that this has been a known issue (quotation from
mail archives below).

So . . . what is the situation today?

I can perform simple experiments if it would be helpful to
anybody trying to debug the problem.

For example, everything i do with trying
to set the fonts gives the same error ("Not an available
fixed-width font"). E.g., evaluating the form
(set-default-fontsize 17) gives this error, and throws me into
the debugger. So i could send a backtrace if that would be helpful.

Or maybe this is ancient history by now?

Thanks in advance for any clues.
