sorry, it might be ^F2. i meant the value of "Move focus to the menu bar" in "Keyboard Navigation" in system prefs' keyboard shortcuts. once the bar is activated, you can navigate the menus either with the arrow keys or with unique letter combinations (similar to emacs' `tmm- menubar`). here in mail.app, e.g., the key sequence "^F2, v, enter, s, enter, n, enter" would select "Next message in this thread."
i should mention that i use alt-space instead of ^F2, though i don't know if this makes any difference. anyway this used to work in emacs.app (though it was a bit buggy). i now see that it kind of works in rc2, viz., a menu becomes accessible by keyboard once it's already been selected by the mouse, though submenus remain inaccessible. i also see that `menu-bar-mode` doesn't seem to do anything, though i haven't tested that in two years. if there's no simple fix it's no problem, since i can just keep using `tmm-menubar`. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
