I applied the Emacs.app patches to the unicode-2 branch of GNU Emacs,  
i.e. Unicode Emacs 23.0.0. Then I could do a 'cvs up' from time to  
time and recompile Emacs.app.

When you look into the emacs-23.0.0_NS-9.0rc2a directory you can see  
a CVS directory and a .cvsignore file – the chances are good that you  
can update from the unicode-2! Have you tried a cvs up?
