If you can't reproduce the problem starting with .../Emacs -Q, I would
conclude the problem is due to font setting of your own or that
provided by third-party packages. Note that neither carbon-fonts or
carbon-emacs-package.el is a part of Carbon Emacs. If they cause some
problems, please send a bug report to an appropriate place (support
list of "Carbon Emacs Package"?).
