Is the inter-line spacing relative to GNU Carbon and Cocoa intentional? If you visit the same file with the same fixed font in the same size frame (say Monoco 9pt in 128x66), Emacs.app is using more inter-line spacing, resulting in a taller window overall. Emacs.app is on the left, GNU Carbon Emacs (22.1) is in the center, and Terminal.app is on the right. (Aquamacs, unsurprisingly, looks like Carbon Emacs, so I didn't include it.) Note that the same line is the last line in all three, but that Emacs.app's window is quite a bit taller. FWIW, I tried running w/ --disable-font-backend, but that made no difference.
