I still cannot get the GNUstep code to work, but for what it's worth,
compiling with ./configure seems to work as well as with
nextstep/compile: i.e. the `gcc' commands run seem to be identical in
both cases; the compilation proceeds without error until building
`temacs', and then `temacs' fails on the first call to ObjC code.
