Oops, I mistook the case.  I retried it in the KDE desktop (as I
wrote in <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, the problem has disappeared
in the GNOME desktop for the unknown reason).

The ``Emacs*useXII: false'' line is effective for the Emacs
which I built with the ``--with-xim'' option.  However, to be
effective in /usr/bin/emacs-21.4-x is only to modify the Iiimx
resource file after all.  I don't know how Fedore made it, but
seem it was made so as to be used together with Iiimx rigidly.
