See the "Importing and Exporting Diary Entries" node of the manual.

In particular, diary-from-outlook, diary-from-outlook-gnus,
diary-from-outlook-rmail. I never have to deal with outlook stuff, so
I don't know if this qualifies as "sophisticated".
