No! Emacs code should not use defadvice.
When you're trying to make improvements in Emacs or fix problems in
Emacs, please do NOT think of defadvice as the way to do it.
Sorry, I was just suggesting an easy way to achieve the result, not
something to implement in Emacs. But it looks like I misunderstood the
magnitude of the problem and the intention of the question.
